MDT KNX price in India: what drives the cost
An MDT KNX installation is priced by the devices a building needs, so a price depends on the project. Morion Automation, the authorised MDT distributor in India, quotes MDT devices from your device list. This page explains what moves the price and how to ask for a quote.
What decides the price of an MDT KNX system
- Lighting circuits. Switch actuators come in sizes from 2-fold to 24-fold, so the number of circuits sets how many channels you need. The same building can use a few large actuators or many small ones.
- Dimming, shutters and heating. Each has its own actuator family: shutter actuators (JAL), dimming actuators for dimmable 230 V LED lamps and 12/24 V LED controllers (AKD), and heating actuators with an integrated PI controller per channel (AKH).
- Keypads and displays. This is the choice people see. MDT makes plastic push-buttons for standard 55, 60, 63 and 86 mm switch frames (Elevio), stand-alone glass push-buttons (Lucilio) and touch panels such as the 8-inch VisuControl Plus (Aurelio). The finish and number of keypads move the total more than most people expect.
- Sensors. Presence and motion detectors (Motivio), and temperature, brightness, rain and weather sensors (Sensario).
- System devices. Every KNX line needs a bus power supply, and larger projects add line couplers, an IP interface or router, and a logic module (Coresio).
- Wireless parts. KNX RF+ devices (Varisio) suit places where a bus cable cannot be laid, such as a retrofit.
How a quote is built
- List what each room should do. Lights, blinds, climate, scenes and keypads, room by room.
- Count the channels. Add up lighting circuits, shutters, dimmers and heating zones to size the actuators.
- Choose the keypad family per room. Plastic, glass or touch, and the frame size where the design needs one.
- Add the system devices each KNX line needs: power supply, couplers and interfaces.
- Send Morion the list. We price the MDT devices from it. Installation and programming in ETS are done by your KNX-certified integrator.
| Part number | What it is | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| AKS-0816.03 | 8-fold switch actuator, 16 A, DIN rail | Switching lighting circuits in the distribution board |
| JAL-0210.02 | Shutter actuator (listed by MDT as an example of the JAL range) | Blinds and roller shutters |
| BE-GT20W.02 | Glass Push-button II Smart, with a colour display | A wall keypad for rooms with many functions |
| SCN-P360D1.01 | Mini Presence Detector 360° | Presence-based lighting |
| STV-0160.02 | Bus power supply, 160 mA | Powering a KNX line |
| SCN-IP000.03 | IP interface | Connecting a PC to the KNX bus over LAN |
Why two quotes for the same house can differ
The scope decides most of it: how many circuits are controlled, whether the keypads are plastic, glass or touch, how many rooms get sensors, and whether the project is wired or partly wireless. Comparing quotes only works when they cover the same device list.
